Cancer Neuroscience Symposium @ iNest
Join us for our spring multidisciplinary symposium entitled Cancer Neuroscience Symposium: Neurons in Tumor Microenvironment Context, hosted by Temple University’s Innovation Nest (iNest). Cancer Neuroscience is a rapidly growing interdisciplinary field that focuses on the link between the nervous system and cancer. Increasing evidence recognizes the essential role of the neoaxonogenesis in the onset, progression, and metastasis of cancer, establishing it as a novel component of the tumor microenvironment. Conversely, treatments for cancer can damage the nervous system, causing neuropathy that reduces quality of life among cancer survivors. Scholarly articles mentioning “cancer” AND “neuroscience” have witnessed an increase from 216 articles in 2000 to 4,852 in 2023. The aim of this symposium is to fortify existing and initiate new connections among researchers across our unique tri-campus ecosystem, interested in the emerging field of Cancer Neuroscience.
