SUMMARY:Advocacy Day
DESCRIPTION:Each year Life Sciences Pennsylvania provides a platform for our member companies to come to Harrisburg\, receive a short briefing on the latest issues\, and attend meetings with key legislators and staff. \nAs interest and investment in the life sciences continues to garner attention in Harrisburg\, 2026 will be an important year to ensure legislators hear directly from individuals and organizations supportive of these initiatives. The hallmark of effective advocacy is the ability to share your story\, and Advocacy Day helps facilitate these important discussions. \nYou don’t need to study public policy or be up to date on the latest policy debates to be effective. You simply need to have a concise description of your organization\, demonstrate your passion for innovation\, and explain who it will help. Realizing that most legislators are not regularly exposed to the life sciences and are not scientists themselves\, this is a great opportunity to educate and inform public officials in Harrisburg. Additionally\, you don’t need to know your way around the capitol building\, we’ll have group leaders to guide you along the way. \nYour voice is needed in the halls of Harrisburg! \nIf you have any questions\, please contact Kurt Imhof\, kimhof@lifesciencespa.org \n*There is no cost to attend this members-only event\n \n Click Here to Register

SUMMARY:AI in Action: Real-World Applications Across Pittsburgh’s Human Health Innovation Ecosystem
DESCRIPTION:Artificial intelligence is no longer just in a pilot phase in healthcare. It’s actively shaping how organizations operate\, make decisions\, and deliver care today. \nJoin leaders from across Pittsburgh’s life sciences and healthcare community for a candid\, real-world discussion about how local organizations are actually applying AI today. This session will go beyond theory to explore practical use cases\, lessons learned\, and the realities of implementation. SUMMARY:2026 ABFO National Conference
DESCRIPTION:The ABFO National Conference is the leading event for Bioscience CFOs and senior finance professionals aspiring to be CFOs.  We have an outstanding lineup this year\, including keynote speakers Tom Whitehead (Co-Founder\, Emily Whitehead Foundation)\, Donovan McNabb\, Joe Quinlan (Bank of America Merrill Lynch)\, and Dr. Taryn Marie. Breakout sessions cover everything from AI implementation and treasury best practices to IPO readiness\, M&A\, and career development\, all designed for biotech finance leaders. \nWho should attend?\nCFOs: As the biotech landscape evolves at unprecedented speed\, CFOs find themselves at the center of transformation—not only managing capital\, but shaping strategic direction. At ABFO\, financial leaders will gain critical insights into emerging funding dynamics\, M&A priorities and regulatory shifts that directly influence long term financial planning. You will walk away with a clearer understanding of how to balance innovation investment with disciplined fiscal governance\, how to position your organization in a competitive capital market\, and how to leverage partnerships\, data\, and operational models that accelerate growth. Ultimately\, ABFO equips CFOs with the strategic foresight and practical tools needed to guide their companies through the next wave of scientific and market opportunity. \nAspiring CFOs: For future CFOs\, ABFO offers a front row seat to the forces shaping the industry—and a clear view of the skills and strategic mindset required to lead in it. Attendees will gain exposure to evolving capital raising models and the financial frameworks that drive biotech from early discovery through commercialization. They’ll see firsthand how seasoned CFOs navigate uncertainty\, build investor confidence\, and translate complex science into clear value narratives.\nMore importantly\, aspiring CFOs will leave with a deeper understanding of the competencies they must hone: strategic financial planning in a high risk\, high reward environment; cross functional collaboration with R&D and clinical teams; and the ability to anticipate regulatory\, market\, and operational pressures before they materialize. The conference serves not just as an educational experience\, but as a roadmap—illuminating the path toward becoming a financial leader who can guide a biotech organization through growth\, challenges\, and breakthrough moments.\n \n Click Here to Register
