APIFARMA was founded in 1975, succeeding the National Association of Pharmaceutical Specialists, an institution created in 1939.
Currently, it represents more than 110 companies responsible for the Production and Import of Medicines for Human and Veterinary Use, Vaccines, and In Vitro Diagnostics .
APIFARMA’s usual interlocutors, with a view to solving common problems, the socio-economic development of the sector and the country, the improvement of Health in Portugal and the greater access of patients to the new therapies, are the Public Administration, parliamentary committees, national and international summit bodies, patient associations and workers’ representative institutions.
